Custom machining for the aerospace industry

Machining performance for strategic aerospace parts

In the aeronautics, space and aerospace sectors, excellence is a must: micrometric tolerances, complex materials, large-scale parts. Each challenge requires a tailor-made machining solution. That’s where CRENO comes in: as a recognized industrial partner, we deploy multi-axis CNC machines, robotized cells and mobile solutions to turn your most ambitious projects into reality.

Key benefits for the aerospace industry

  • Micron precision This is essential to guarantee the conformity of critical parts such as aircraft nacelles or satellite panels. Our CNC machines and robotized solutions integrate Siemens ONE technologies to meet this requirement.
  • Increased productivity Acoustic multi-drilling achieves up to 35 holes per second, while ultrasonic cutting is up to three times faster than conventional processes. These performances enable us to keep up with the most demanding industrial production rates.
  • Machining large parts Our mobile CNC machines move directly over large parts such as aircraft wings or satellite structures. This avoids heavy handling operations and reduces the risk of damage.
  • Flexibility and repeatability: our robotized cells enable high-precision machining of light alloys and composites, by easily adapting tools and trajectories.
  • TRL support: from initial development through to industrialization, our Application Center and engineering teams will help you validate your machining processes and accelerate your rise to industrial maturity.

Our solutions for the aerospace industry

Flexible CNC robotization

For machining composites and light alloys, we have developed robotized cells that combine flexibility and precision. Equipped with high-performance spindles, they ensure perfect repeatability, even on complex geometries.

CNC acoustic multi-drilling

Acoustic drilling is an essential process in the aerospace industry, particularly for nacelles. CRENO, world leader in this process, offers CNC machines capable of drilling up to 35 holes per second, thanks to multi-spindle heads validated by Airbus, Boeing and Safran.

Mobile CNC machines for large structures

When a part is too large to be moved, the machine adapts. Our mobile machines work directly on the part, machining aircraft wings, satellite panels or naval structures. This process reduces handling risks and optimizes your lead times.

Ultrasonic cutting of composites

Cutting honeycombs and composite panels requires high precision, while minimizing defects. Our ultrasonic cutting solutions eliminate dust, reduce cutting effort and ensure perfect quality even on complex geometries.

Rapid routing and stack drilling of metal sheets

For the manufacture of structural panels or cladding in aluminium or steel, our high-performance cutting machines ensure :

  • simultaneous cutting and drilling operations on sheet metal stacks up to 16 mm thick
  • optimized off-cuts thanks to the patented “bridge-cut” process
  • full automation, with tool changer and chip extractor.

Why choose CRENO?

  • Aeronautics, space and aerospace expertise: we are partners of major OEMs such asAirbus, Safran, Dassault, Thales and Collins.
  • Guaranteed precision and repeatability: our equipment is validated by leading manufacturers and designed to meet the strictest tolerances.
  • Application Center: we’re with you every step of the way, from proof of concept to prototype validation testing.
  • Reliability and durability: our machines are designed to last over 30 years, with preventive maintenance services and retrofit solutions to adapt to your industrial evolutions.

Case studies: achievements in the aerospace industry

  • Micro-drilling of nacelles for Collins and Safran: optimized output, consistent quality.
  • Machining satellite panels for Thales Alenia Space: meeting tolerances, process reliability.
  • Work on wide-body wings using a mobile CNC machine: no need for handling, saves time.
